The Full Day Tour

This tour combines the Wine And Seafood Tour in the morning, with a trip up into the hills around Faugères in the afternoon. It requires a minimum of four guests.

The Languedoc doesn't just do big red wines. One of the great gastronomic french marriages is white Picpoul de Pinet wine and juicy oysters from the Thau lagoon. This tour includes  a fascinating visit to a producer of oysters and mussels. You'll learn about the history of the lagoon, followed by an explanation of the amazing processes involved in the rearing of oysters and mussels, before tucking into a plate of the freshest seafood you'll ever taste. All washed down of course with a glass of chilled Picpoul .

We then head inland to the winery of one of the most respected winemakers in the area, who produces white Picpoul, fruity rosés and a wonderful range of reds. We'll take a stroll through the vines before heading into the winery. All questions are always welcome of course!
We'll then do a quick tasting initiation followed by a generous tasting of reds, whites and rosés, all accompanied by some tasty Mediterranean tapas.

There will then be free time for lunch in a lovely village on the banks of the lagoon, which boasts several restaurants and cafés.

After lunch we head up into the garrigue-covered hills around Faugères. We'll look at the differences between the vines we saw in the morning, and those on the hills. Terroir, climate, grape variety, everything is a little bit different. We'll then head up to the stunning Moulins de Faugères where there is a fabulous 360° panorama, from the mountains of the Espinousse to the north, right down across the Béziers plain to the Mediterranean in the south. You'll now be ready for another wine tasting, and we'll visit a super little winery in the heart of the medieval village. Very rustic, but absolutely the real deal. Here, the winemaker will let us try different grape varieties and blends directly from the barrel. A rare treat  but one which will help you to understand the art of blending which is so crucial to the production of great wine.

It's a long, tiring, often hot day, but our guests always feel as though they've had a real taste of the Languedoc.
