January - March 2010:  Introduction To The Wines Of The Languedoc

For the start of 2010 we are offering a half-day introduction to the region's wines. This introduction takes place in the morning from 9.30am until 12.30pm or in the afternoon from 2pm until 5pm.

We hold the event at a single vineyard, and upon arrival, there is a brief introduction to the Languedoc: not just the wine, but some history, and in particular the development of agriculture and the vine in the region. We cover topics such as the development and the rôle of the Cooperatives from 1907 to the present day. Of course, we encourage our guests to ask as many questions as possible.

We then head out into the vines, where we look at the impact of terroir, climate and vineyard techniques in the final product, before heading inside to look at the work of the winemaker.

We finish off with a brief guide to tasting wines, followed by a generous tasting  of wines from across the Languedoc, accompanied by a selection of Mediterranean tapas.

Price for groups of 3 or more:  € 35 per person.

Price for 2 people:  € 95

Pick Up and Drop Off are possible within the Béziers/Faugères/Pézenas area at only €5 per person. We can pick-up and drop-off in other areas too. Please call for more info.

This half-day visit is a great way to liven up a winter's morning or afternoon with a group of friends.
